Diodes Incorporated (Nasdaq: DIOD) has announced the release of the PI3EQX64904, the industry’s first ReDriver™ capable of supporting PCI Express® (PCIe®) 6.0 data rates of up to 64 GT/s, while maintaining backward compatibility with PCIe 5.0, 4.0, and 3.0 protocols.
This low-power, high-performance four-lane differential PAM4 linear ReDriver is purpose-built for demanding applications such as AI data centers (storage and servers), workstations, 5G networking, CPU-to-NIC and CPU-to-NVMe interconnects, and high-performance computing (HPC) clusters requiring CPU-to-CPU communication.
The PI3EQX64904 enhances signal integrity by applying advanced linear equalization with tunable low- and high-frequency peaking to improve PAM4 signal quality over high-speed PCIe interfaces. By compensating for transmitter-side channel loss and restoring eye diagram clarity at the receiver, this device reduces inter-symbol interference and lowers the bit error rate (BER) at 64 GT/s.
Key features include:
- Compliance with Microsoft’s Modern Standby requirements, consuming less than 5mW in deep sleep (PCIe L1.2 mode)
- Exceptional linearity and ultra-low jitter for clean signal transmission
- Optimized for cost-effective PCB trace extension with minimal added latency and power consumption
- Supports a supply voltage of 3.3V ±0.3V and operates across a wide -40°C to +85°C industrial temperature range
- Housed in a compact W-LGA-31L package (6.1mm x 2.7mm), priced at $5.00 each in 3,000-unit quantities
With the PI3EQX64904, Diodes Incorporated continues to lead in high-speed connectivity solutions, empowering engineers to build faster, more reliable, and energy-efficient systems for next-gen computing and networking.
